I am the Data Services, Geosciences, Gov't Info, Maps and GIS Librarian at Georgia State University. I’m very interested in combining historical data and maps by using new, newish and innovative technologies. I’m currently working on digitizing a hidden collection of about 500 uncataloged City of Atlanta planning maps dating from the 1930s to the 1980s. Many of these maps depict urban renewal proposals and land use within the city. This collection is rich with information about the built environment of Atlanta and race at the neighborhood level.
